God’s Purpose for My Generation
Dear Friends:
In Act 13 we read of the Apostle Paul’s sermon at a synagogue in Pisidian Antioch on the Sabbath. He shared how Jesus came, as David’s descendant, to be the Savior. In this message, we learned about the relationship between David and God. In Acts 13:22 we read, “God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he did everything I want him to do.’” Then in verse 36 we read, “Now when David had served God’s purpose for his own generation, he fell asleep … “
What a powerful endorsement of a life well lived! David was a man after God’s own heart who did everything that God wanted him to do and who served God’s purpose for his own generation. Wow!
So, the question today that we must ask is, “Am I serving God’s purpose for my generation?” This is a powerful question. It focuses on God’s purpose and not my purpose. What does God want accomplished and what role does He want you and I to play?
We know from the Great Commission that our marching orders as a Church is to “go and make disciples of all nations” as we teach them to obey everything that Christ commanded (Matthew 28:18-20). As individuals, we must ask the Lord what our part should be. What role does He have for us in His master plan?
I can tell you with certainty that when you join ministries like Network211 in the journey to reach everyone, everywhere you are participating in God’s purpose for our generation. Together, we made over 62.5 million Gospel presentations in 244 countries and territories via the Internet. Over 3.8 million individuals made an evangelism response and over 570,000 then wrote to us to begin a discipleship connection.
Together, we presented the Gospel in the large nations of the world such as China, Russia, and the United States. Also, we reached locations with small numbers of people such as Nauru, Vatican City, Antarctica, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
Our purpose is to go into all the world and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15) for we know that “And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come (Mark 24:14). Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus!
Thank you for your faithfulness! Your continued prayer and financial support empower us to march to fulfill Project 100Million. While we thank the Lord for what He allowed us to do so far, we are asking Him for the ability to spread more seeds of the Gospel so that we can see a greater harvest of souls. This is our purpose for our generation! All for the glory of God!
Blessings,
Mark
