How Far Would You Go?

Dear Friends:

How far would you go to save a loved one? We would give our own lives to save the life of our spouse or our children from imminent danger. No hesitation. No time needed to count the cost. Our Heavenly Father understands! He gave His very best, His One and only Son, to pay the penalty for our sins and to reconcile us to Him.

How far would you go to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world? Missionaries are called by God to share the Gospel to the ends of the earth and often risk their lives and the lives of their families in the process. But not all of God’s work takes us through the valley of the shadow of death. The Lord is constantly orchestrating the lives of individuals to connect the message of His love to those in dire need of salvation.

The other day, the moving map on Network211.com/stats revealed a man in Amman, Jordan made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior after interacting with us on WhoJesusIs.com. As I considered this specific scenario, I was struck by how far the Lord went in creating this opportunity for this man, this specific individual whom He knows by name, to be presented the Gospel, to respond, and to be directed to a local Assembly of God church.

See, back in 1970, my family was in Amman, Jordan for a visit with my Uncle Warren and Aunt Jean. They were AG missionaries who had been in Jordan a few years at that point in time. They were in Amman during the Six Day war in 1967 and survived. Later in 1970, they would survive Black September in Amman. It was during our visit that I remember every night, my family and my Uncle and Aunt would drive to the building where they had planted a church. We walked upstairs, met in a small room, and huddled around a gas fire stove for warmth from the winter cold. And we prayed. Warren and Jean prayed faithfully and soon found a local believer to be the pastor of the church. And the church grew. It continues to thrive today as a light of God’s love.

So, the other day, when I saw the man from Amman who committed his life to Christ, I knew that we could direct him to a wonderful church where the family of God could journey with him in life and discipleship to become the person God created him to be.

I will not take the time to attempt to detail this, but it boggles my mind to think of all the people, all the moving parts, that God orchestrated so that a man in Amman could receive the Gospel message and be planted into a local church. Every actor in this play gave their lives for this very moment; my Uncle and Aunt, who were called to Jordan, my Dad who started Network211, and people like you who faithfully pray and give. Truly, this was a team effort and the Lord was the Great Mastermind. It is truly amazing what can be done for the sake of the Gospel when each believer says “Yes!” to the Lord in obedience to His calling.

Thank you for answering this call! How far will you go to see the Gospel proclaimed to everyone and in every nation and territory in the world? Your prayers matter! Your financial gifts are making an eternal difference! As we work together, as we are all led by the Holy Spirit, we will see lives transformed for eternity.

Blessings,
Mark
