Celebrating Jesus!

 

Dear Friends:

I love the Christmas holidays! It is a wonderful time to celebrate our Savior’s birth with family and friends. We give gifts to our loved ones as an expression of our love for them. Giving is an imitation of divine action; “For God so loved that world that He gave His One and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” When we love and give then we are acting like our Heavenly Father.

What an honor we have to give the Greatest Message in the history of the world to others around the world who desperately need our Savior! What a privilege we have to journey with them in their walk with the Lord and to direct them from “Searches to Churches!”

As disciples, I pray that we will set aside time from the hustle and craziness of the holiday and focus on Jesus. I pray that the Lord will reenergize our relationship with Him and that our walk will delve into deeper levels of spiritual maturity. May the joy of the Lord sing in our hearts as we celebrate Jesus. As Isaac Watts penned in 1719, may we proclaim:

 Joy to the world; the Lord is come;
Let Earth receive her King;
Let ev’ry Heart prepare him room,
And Heav’n and nature sing.
