Give Them the Impossible!

Dear Friends:

I found a quote that resonates deep within my soul. Orson Wells, the creative and innovative actor, screenwriter, and producer was attributed as saying, “Don’t give them what you think they want. Give them what they never thought was possible.” I love it!

Worldwide, people are searching the Internet for help, hope, and even rescue from their life issues. Their personal dilemmas are detrimental to their health and well-being and affect adversely their life and work. And this is a global phenomenon.

For example, did you know that there is a Minister of Loneliness in Japan and a similar position in the United Kingdom? These governments realize that loneliness and isolation are devastating and frequently result in suicide. So, they respond to this social issue by spotlighting the problem, creating a government department, and throwing money at the need. This is all done with hopes that this possibility could make people happier and save lives.

Wells’ quote captures what we are doing as believers who let our light shine in a dark and fallen world. We do more than give them what they want. We do more than what they thought was possible. We bring them to Jesus! Jesus said, “‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

They were seeking a solution that will bring relief. When they visit our online interactive evangelism communities they learn about Jesus! They discover His love and this is more than they dreamed could be possible!

Jesus brings healing. Jesus brings restoration and transformation. Jesus brings relationship. Jesus brings love, value, and purpose to their lives. Jesus brings new life and for eternity! This is immeasurably more than they could ask or imagine and it is all for the glory of Christ Jesus (Ephesians 3:20).

Here are some examples of people searching online for help:

  • A man from Kenya wrote, “I beg for forgiveness the acts I’ve done and in any way, they are in order for I to do if they are sins God scatter them all any evil acts and plans before me ahead of me scatter them all my lord I pray and seek for your help my God trusting in you in Jesus name Amen”
  • A man from Uganda wrote, “How can I discover my purpose in life both spiritual and physical”
  • A woman from Israel wrote, “To get rid of the root of the anxieties that block me and harm me throughout life.”

We have Spirit-filled believers who reply with a personal response, and Bible verses then direct the inquirer to more content on JourneyOnline.org.
