They Need Jesus
Dear Friends:
In recent days, I have been overwhelmed by examples of people who are in desperate situations and do not know where to turn for help and hope. Each day, Network211 receives over 180 comments from individuals who write to us and share their life issues. The common factor for all of them is that they need Jesus.
Allow me to share some examples that I experienced in the last few weeks. First, a high school friend and Facebook friend, whom I have not seen personally in over forty-five years, passed away prematurely. He did not believe in God. His motto was, “Let the good times roll!” If life was not good then he just focused on thinking positively and trying to do something good in an effort to force a change in his perspective. He was all about creating “positive energy.” He truly was a good person who seemed to be a loving husband and hard worker. But, what was missing in his life was a personal relationship with our Savior. He needed Jesus.
Second, on a return flight home last night from speaking at a church, there were two women seated behind me who engaged each other in conversation. One woman was hoping that life would change now that she “Did my time!” in jail for the past year and a half. The other woman shared her life story. She had an abortion at fourteen years old and now has six children from three different men. She lamented that her response to coping with life’s hard knocks was to seek escape through drugs and alcohol. Her body is now paying the price. My heart broke for them. If only we had the opportunity to share the love of Christ with them. They need Jesus.
Third, I heard about a young married couple who work hard, are close to the wife’s family, and are good people. But, they have a spiritual void in their hearts that they attempt to fill with work, family, and vacations. Their lives could be so much more fulfilling if only they experienced the joy of walking with our Creator. They need Jesus.
When life knocks them down, to whom will they turn for help and hope? Do they seek refuge in social media and seek answers from the Internet? Do they ignore their current situation and create their own reality? Do they escape through drugs and alcohol? Do they fill their lives with activities and avoid the longing of their hearts to find their reason for living? They need Jesus.
This causes me to rededicate my life and share the love of Jesus Christ at every opportunity that comes my way to interact with people. As Paul wrote in I Corinthians 5:11-21, we are compelled to share the love of Christ, be Christ’s ambassadors, and direct others to be reconciled with Jesus, just as we were reconciled. This is our opportunity. This is our responsibility. If we, as disciples of Jesus Christ, fail in this God-given mission then who will bring help and hope to others?
Thank you for your faithful prayer and financial support of Network211. Through the power of the Internet, we are able to meet people at their point of need, in their desperation of life’s dilemma, and share the love of Jesus Christ. We have the mission, the message, and the medium to bring help and hope to individuals around the world.
Thank you for partnering with us to give them the Answer, the One they need. We give them Jesus.
Blessings,
Mark
